Research Program
For young artists and those who are engaged in curatorial work, CCA Kitakyushu operates Research Program as the opportunity to develop their reflections into contemporary art.

The program seeks to allow the participants to interact and exchange ideas on a daily basis with the artists of professorship and also with the specialists from various fields throughout the program year, in order to broaden their perspective.

ACTIVITIES IN THE RESEARCH PROGRAM

GROUP WORK
: SEMINARS: The seminar consists of a program of lectures/workshop and discussion, which are led by professionals in contemporary art and the other fields as professors/lecturers. These seminars are compulsory program for all participants of Research Program

INDEPENDENT WORK: The participants can concentrate on their independent creative work at individual studios or at the study room through regular group discussion with artists in residence as professorship. The participants can make an appointment with the professors for studio visit. The participants of the curatorial study take part in the CCA's activities with the professors as organizing exhibitions and assisting the artists' work. For their activities, the participants are given free access to CCA's library specialized in contemporary art. In March before the completion of the program, the participants of artist work for the exhibition at their own studio and open to the public, and the participants of curatorial study organize the group show at the CCA's gallery.
