The
Project Gallery presents an installation using a video work by Julião
Sarmento.
A presentation in the gallery will include a montage of several dimensions
of indoors everyday life in a large-scale projection and a still-like
image of compressed time in small with a reproduction of his private
room.
As young man there was no notable fineness to my features. Blurry
eyes, a sparse head of hair, a vague swelling of the belly. I check
myself in the mirror. I am starting to get old. But again, I was already
old when I was young... I spend my days in this house and my nights
in this room. Sometimes it seems there is no way out ... And also
this ever present fear... The honey pot sits on the table. The fly
is flying in circles, and circles, and circles attracted by the smell
of the honey until it finally falls, dizzy and exhausted, on the floor.
