Pretty
Paper
June 22 - July 11, 1998 |
 |
The
Project Gallery exhibits an installation by Joseph Grigely. For his
project at the CCA, Grigely presented a series of wallworks and tableaux
entitled Pretty Paper. Similar to the ways in which a still life painting
reflects on the everyday aspects of everyday life, Grigely's work
reflects on the conversations of everyday life. Pretty Paper is thus
an installation that explores the relationship between art and life,
and how, as social beings, we continuously create and recreate ourselves
in the course of everyday communication.
Joseph Grigely stayed at the CCA Kitakyushu as professor of the Research
Program from May 8 through June 22, 1998.
