Kendell
Geers was born in May, 1968, grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa
and currently lives and works in Brussels, Belgium.
Being himself both African and European, and yet at the same time
neither, Geers has always been drawn to the concept of the Inter-Zone,
a borderland or hybrid state that speaks both of what it is as much
as what it is not. The creative and destructive impulse are equally
adopted as strategies that bring art and life uncomfortably closer
to one another, each being made more complex through the confrontation
and juxtaposition. |
